Speaking with Silence

Newborn Paulius was diagnosed with a serious disability. Unable to cope with the burden, the child’s father abandoned the family. Dana was left to raise Paulius alone, a son who’ll never see or speak. `Paulius is my wonder and my gift,` the mother says about her 38 year-old son, who’ll remain a child forever. Her monologue to a son living in darkness and silence seems as meaningless as incredibly meaningful. Watching them raises doubts if hearing and sight are the only means for human communication. Maybe love between two people has its own language, which can’t be grasped and limited by the basic human senses.
